In support of this, is the presence, just below the village, the remains of a Roman bridge, on which rests the Church of St. John in Butris built in the fifteenth century.

Within the country, the building of more importance and 'undoubtedly the Palazzo Cesi, Renaissance and well-preserved.

Designed in 1564 by Gian Domenico Bianchi, and presumably completed around 1579, the building was home to the prestigious Accademia dei Lincei, as well as the home of Duke Federico Cesi.

The building is now an exhibition and conferences space.
