	LOCANDA DEI SANTI In the heart of the historical center, a few steps away from the Rialto Bridge and Saint Mark's square, our Locanda welcomes its guests in a friendly, elegant and comfortable environment, for an unforgettable stay, in the magic atmosphere of a fascinating enchanting city: Venice. The Locanda is situated in "Castello", the most easterly and largest district (Sestriere) of the city. The name probably derives from an ancient tenth century castle that was erected as a defence for the nearby port of San Nicolò.

The Castello district is the ideal place for those who wish to discover a different Venice from the sumptuous splendors of St. Mark's or magnificent gothic architecture, however finding oneself not too far from the crowded "Mercerie" always full of tourists and busy Venetians. The Locanda is an ancient eighteenth century house now completely renovated with pleasant rooms in the 1700's venetian style, everyone with air-conditioning (from June to September), telephone, wall-safe and a modern bathroom with shower, sanitary units and hairdryer.
The open beams of the ceilings and the décor created by the able hands of Venetian Craftsmen make every single piece a little work of art. The luminous windows look onto the "Barbaria delle Tole" and the "Calle dell'Ospedaletto" in front of which is the (Church) "Chiesa dei Derelitti", whose façade is rich with marbles and sculptures, and was built using a project of Baldassare Longhena.
