Enjoyed our Stay at Calamatta
We contacted the representative upon arriving in Rome and he answered promptly and spoke excellent English. He was at the unit when we arrived and was very thorough about explaining how to operate the washer, TV, etc. The apartment was in a lovely neighborhood close to the Vatican and very near to the lovely Piazza Novena across the Tiber River and all the other Roman attractions were within walking distance. It was clean and looked exactly as shown on the website. It was so wonderful to have so much space after staying at other B&Bs in Italy and have a relaxing place to come back to at the end of a long day of sightseeing. The only drawback I can think of is the small balcony basically overlooked an alley. Would definitely recommend it!

Nice apt. on quiet street - easy walk to everywhere
This is a lovely spot within walking distance of everything you want to see in old Rome. The apt. was nicely furnished and comfortable. Our only complaint would be we could not find a grocery store or many restuarants nearby. It would have been nice if there was a list of local restaurants, grocery stores, internet cafe's and directirons to them left in the apt. Check-in was very easy. i would definately use Sleep Italy again.

A comfortable apartment in a most convenient situation
Very well equipped but desperately needs a new kettle!

Apartment calamatta
I had a wonderful 16 days at the Apartment Calamatta. The apartment is situated in a very nice neighbourhood, next door to Piazza Cavour (which is undergoing construction so wasn't very attaractive). It is easy walking distance to the Vatican, Piazza Navona, Piazza Popolo and the Spanish Steps. There is a superma
The apartment is in a smart building with security doors. It is decorated very tastefully, with a marble bathroom, containing a spa bath. There is a huge king bed on the mezzanine and a sofa bed too. A small kitchen but well equipped with an oven, dish washer (didn't use) and a washing machine (frequently used because it was so hot!).There is satellite tv but a limited range of channels available in English. Good air conditioning, plenty of storage space (I discovered extra space under the stairs the day before I left!) and comfortable sofas. There is a balcony which overlooks an inner courtyard, which is not particularly interesting.
The apartment was spotless when I arrived. The cleaner, a friendly guy, changed the sheets and cleaned often. When there was a problem with the drainage in the bathroom sink, he came immediately after a phone call to the owner, to fix it. The owner speaks a little English but the cleaner/go between guy (I'm so sorry I can't remember his name) speaks good English. He is the contact that meets you at the apartment when you arrive. I had no problems with the Sleep In Italy staff I communicated with via email. The apartment was everything indicated in the advertisement on the website.
One minor quibble I had was having to go downstairs to the bathroom during the night; a slight annoyance but it wouldn't put me off staying at the Calamatta again.

Clean, quite, charming, convenient!
We stayed at this apartment for 5 days and loved it. The building is incredibly quiet, the apartment is well laid out. The air-conditioning came in handy since it was hot and sunny every day. The apartment would be great for longer stays since it has an enormous walk-in closet and a washing machine.
The location is great...we walked nearly everywhere (Vatican, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Trastavere).
I'd recommend this place to any couple traveling to Rome.
Additionally, we had a great experience with Sleep in Italy, as a company. Our flight was delayed and there were incredibly flexible about meeting us later in the day (5 hours later!).

Lovely apartment, comfortable and cool
This is a lovely apartment - elegantly furnished with all mod cons including a jacuzzi bath! The location (close to Castel Sant Angelo) is great for the Vatican, and easy walk to Spanish Steps etc... but it is not in the main restaurant/ nightlife area. Nevertheless, we found plenty of nice places to eat, including a lovely restaurant at the end of the road. taxis and buses easily found in Piazza Cavour, 2 mins walk.
the property overlooks a central courtyard, but the height of the building means it doesn't get direct sun. this means it is gloriously cool after a hot day in the sun. There is heating and air-conditioning if needed.

Good Location
The appartment was lovely and in a great position however we had no hot water for six out of the seven days we stayed there. The situation was not resolved after numerous phone calls to both the owner and 'sleepinItaly' There was absolutely no alternative suggested nor any recompense made. I really feel this is totally unacceptable.

Manager Response to Mr. PKnight:
Unfortunately the problem was much bigger than you can imagine. We, but especially the owner, had a big fight with the condo. The hot water problem was due to the central water eater. At the end, exactly on the 4th of May the problem was definitely solved, so hot water is not a problem at the apartment right now. Many thanks

Convenient location
Apartment was as described in online service. Nice area, quiet location, good eating nearby. Good access to bus routes within 1 or two blocks. Easy to walk to Vatican area,Spanish steps area and shopping districts. Some small problem with time of arrival, owner not getting change of arrival time from rental agency.
Would stay there again.

Great Apartment and Location!
If you are visiting Rome, this apartment is great! We enjoyed the apartment itself and the location was absolutely fabulous. It was within close walking distance of the Vatican, the Pantheon, shoppping on Via del Campo, etc. Everthing was easy to get to and the views of St. Peter's at night when walking back to the apartment were spectacular! And the apartment itself has all the amenities you will need and was very comfortable.
